Casa Masaccio – Centro per l’arte contemporanea – supports artistic research and experimentation with new forms of language. Over the years it has progressively transformed its identity as a municipal gallery and centre for contemporary art, earning recognition from museums of regional importance thanks to its tireless work in the field of spreading and promoting contemporary art.
In what was the house of the great artist, visitors can today critically explore the emergence of contemporary arts through highly original exhibitions and research thanks to a well-thought out programme of exhibitions, conferences, workshops, cinema events and concerts. Over the years the development of multiple collaborations have allowed Casa Masaccio to host important works and artists and create synergies and relations with those who produce contemporary culture locally, nationally and internationally.
Casa Masaccio- Centro per l’arte contemporanea is a space which is in continuous transformation. This has made it necessary for the museum to take over new spaces in the city for its various activities. These sites include Palazzo Salviati where the Casa Masaccio in residence project is realized. It is a platform of residences for the mobility of artists and curators both on a national and an international level. Instead Casa Giovanni Mannozzi is where the permanent collection and the educational section of the museum have been set up.
